NSW: ICAC inquiry to probe prison contraband claims

NSW's corruption watchdog is probing allegations prison guards were paid to supply
drugs and other contraband to inmates at a Sydney jail.

The Independent Commission Against Corruption will begin a public inquiry tomorrow
focussing on claims prisoners at John Morony Correctional Centre .. near Windsor .. paid
guards to get them drugs and mobile telephones.

A senior Corrective Services NSW officer SEBASTIAN WADE .. has been named as one of
the guards under investigation .. but ICAC says others as also part of the inquiry.

ICAC commissioner DAVID IPP will preside at the inquiry .. which has been set down for four days.
