Vic: Good Friday Appeal marks 75th birthday

Organisers of the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday appeal in Melbourne .. are
hoping to raise more than 10 million dollars today .. as the fundraiser marks its 75th
birthday.

Appeal director CHRISTINE UNSWORTH says the event raised just over 10 million dollars
for sick kids last year.

And the official tally room says 1.4 million dollars had been raised by early this afternoon.

In addition to the Channel 7 telethon .. other events are being held around Victoria
to raise money for the appeal .. including a golf charity day at Skye .. south-east of
Melbourne.
